I know what it’s like to feel completely thrown to the wolves when you’re building a business–how TF do I do taxes? What does “KPI” mean and why does everyone keep saying it? If that’s how you’re feeling, you’ve come to the right place.
Whether you’re an aspiring OSP who has a million questions, or a wedding professional wondering if you’re using Pinterest the right way. We will sit down for 60-minutes and get down to the nitty gritty of what it really takes to run and optimize your business.
Afterwards, you’ll receive a list of key takeaways + get access to me for 4 weeks of implementation support. We don’t just talk the talk, I help you walk the walk.
Quick disclaimer–I’m not a lawyer (in case you couldn’t tell). But yes! You definitely want to register your business. It makes things much easier when tax season rolls around.
Again, not a lawyer (or an accountant). But if you’re self-employed and based in the USA you must pay self-employment tax as well as income tax. Make sure you’re setting aside around 30% of your business income to pay your taxes (yes, you WILL owe money). Personally, I think an accountant is always a worthwhile investment.
If you’re self-employed (in the US) and not on anyone else’s plan then you can shop for health insurance in the healthcare marketplace!
This is a great question, and one that I love digging into in a strategy session. New OSPs typically start off around $30/hour based on experience. If you’re a wedding photographer, determine how much time you spend shooting and editing, equipment and business costs, etc. and go from there! Remember to factor in paying yourself, you don’t want to just break even.
I can’t recommend harnessing the power of social media highly enough. Most of my clients come from Instagram. Other business owners use Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook to find clients as well. It’s all about figuring out which platform your dream clients are hanging out on.
Another thing that I love working through in strategy sessions! I can really dig in and help you develop a winning social strategy. But as a rule of thumb, you’ll want to talk about the transformation you’re providing for your clients. Don’t be afraid to show up authentically and let people get to know you!
